Half Moon Bay Brewing Company Reviews |
Rating: 4 out of 5.
Tie down at the south end of the field. (Look at the Google Maps satellite view of the airport, and zoom in on the southeast corner. Plenty of tie down Ts, all with chains.) Exit through the gate, and you'll be right on the restaurant row in Princeton-by-the-Sea. My passenger said the beer was very good, and bought some to bring home. I look forward to trying it. Kobe beef burger was quite flavorful, and they used good blue cheese crumbles. Many other good-looking selections, but I was worried about getting out before fog set in. Apparently tonight is totally clear. To get back to the greater Bay Area, go through the Crystal Springs gap above 2,000 and call the San Carlos tower to enter your details into ATC. SQL tower closes late at night, though, so you'll want to call up an airport directly. Know where the ident button on your transponder is! Reviewed by Matthew Gast on 2015-09-21 |

Another restaurant located along the waterfront just to the southeast of the airport. Taxi down and park by the wooded path and its only a couple minute walk. The Brewing company has excellent pub fare and about 12 brews on tap for your non-pilot passengers, including several of their own brews. The local brew can also be purchased in bottles for those of you who are PIC. Prices are reasonable and service is typically excellent, even on busy days. If the wait for the front patio (facing the ocean) is unreasonable, there is a lovely back garden as well. Seasonal specials include Salmon fish and chips, which is not to be missed. The regular fish and chips and burger are also excellent. Be advised that the airports close proximity to KSFO (San Francisco International) can make it a bit difficult to get out. If there is even the slightest weather, I would recommend an IFR clearance just until clear of the area.
