Not really a restaurant, but this is a weekly fly-in lunch. Every Friday at noon, rain or snow or shine, you'll find at least a few dozen aviation nuts eating a home-cooked meal. There is a very small "membership" fee your first time there to pacify the local restaurant owners, and you'll be a member of the Central County Flyers for life. On the nicer days, you'll find quite an assortment of really neat classic airplanes - Ercoupes, Stearmans, maybe a Fairchild or a Waco or who knows what. There'll be lots of Cubs and other planes of that genre, but you'll feel just as welcome in a trusty 172. The main hangar where you'll eat has lettering above the door that says "Central County Airport - Built for the love of flying." That pretty much says it all. Reviewed by Kent Shook on 2007-10-06 |
