We B Smokin Reviews |

One of the best KC BBQ restaurants around, and it just happens to be on an airport! The food is fantastic and it makes a great breakfast-run destination. Absolutely recommended! Reviewed by Jeff Shultz on 2015-04-14 |

If you're going by Kanas City and want BBQ you gotta stop by! You won't be disappointed. Don't judge a book by its cover on this one. It is A very nice place. Can't wait to go back. Love those beans. Reviewed by Allen Damm on 2012-07-22 |

If you're not sure what to get, and you have a friend, order the "Super We-Be". It has a bit of everything and even though the menu says it feeds two, it really feeds 4...its a LOT of food! The ribs are falling off the bone and the cole slaw is made with vinegar, not mayo which in my opinion is excellent! Staff is very friendly and courteous, and they have a nice HD tv in the dining area showing sports....oh and I hope you are a KC Chiefs fan because this place is decked out in Chiefs gear. About 10 miles due west is Dodson International Aircraft Parts, a giant boneyard full of fuselages, wings and parts. You can land in the grass strip there too. We took the courtesy car over to check it out, but they were closed on Saturday. Paola is a nice town nearby and worth a look. Bottom line: this BBQ is worth the stop! We had a great time at Miami County. The barbecue was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the view of the ramp and runway is great for judging landings. We had a pretty stiff crosswind today to give everyone a good workout. There's no parallel taxiway, so traffic can get backed up on the ramp waiting for a back-taxi during the lunch rush hour. We B Smokin', is located at the Miami County (Paola), KS (K81) airport (SSW of Kansas City). This is a great stop if you're flying near Kansas City. Small terminal style building houses the We B Smokin BBQ restaurant with a great view of the runway and ramp. Get there early - air traffic can look like Oshkosh on a nice day! Breaksfast traffic starts building quickly after 7am and lunch traffic after 11am. 122.8 calls for Miami County will be your first clue that the feedbag is on! Breakfast is typical down-home cookin; two eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, toast and coffee run about $7. Specialty is BBQ! Lunch specials are also very reasonably priced (BBQ sandwich, side and drink also run approx $7). The brisket is lean and has a great smoke flavor. Beans have lots of meat chunks and the same great smoke flavor. Fries are served hot and crispy. The house BBQ sauce is mild and on the sweet side. Cole slaw has a vinegar based sauce – excellent house recipe. I recommend the cherry limeade to wash it all down! Service is outstanding. We B Smokin is family owned and closes for regional events (such as the American Royal Rodeo and BBQ contests) so check the calendar first if you're flying in from outside the greater KC area!
