Discovered when we arrived at the door on a Sat. that the Mesa Italiano is only open weekdays and the Mesa Bar & Grill next door was not open either. A coin toss settled whether to go to the Chinese restaurant further in the same direction or backtrack to Jerry's with, as a fallback, the Denny's next door should Jerry's be closed too. Turns out Jerry's is now the Bear Café. Signage may differ when you arrive but it's near the obvious Denny's. It was a good choice as the restaurant is very clean and recently updated and the service was excellent. They have a broad menu of both Mexican & American selections with everything you'd expect on the Mexican side and offerings including steaks & seafood on the American end of the spectrum. My wife and I both had Mexican selections which had a home-made appeal, generous portions (took home leftovers) at a very reasonable price. Cheap avgas at the time at P14 too though getting on/off the ramp at the deserted little field may be tricky Reviewed by Percival W Herman on 2015-03-18 |
