Harmon's Rocket Shop Cafe Reviews

Rating: 4 out of 5.
Renamed to Glitz Cafe a while back. Far northwest end of airport, easy parking right out front. Good food.

Echo what others have said, it is at the extreme northwest corner of the airport. Despite good signage on the taxiways we were beginning to doubt we were headed to the right spot! Most of the patrons are locals, we were the only pilots. Food is average, typical local burger restaurant menu. Clean. Service was polite but slowish. Yes, we would go back. BTW, be aware of the TALL power lines on final south of the field, we were expecting them and they still were a wow moment.

Business hours updated. This is a nice, diner-style cafe set in large, hanger-like space. Plenty of tables and chairs and a long U-shaped bar to sit at. Decor is NASCAR, service is friendly, prices are reasonable.

Read what other people have written about the location in the NW corner of the field. Parking by the center field FBO/fuel pit will result in a 10-15 minute walk.

We ate at 9 am on a Saturday and had quick service and good food. Our party had pancakes, eggs, sausage & bacon, hashbrowns, and a chile verde burrito with few complaints.

According to the waitress, John Harmon was a customer at the counter while we were there, so based on the other reviews, I would say he's a frequent visitor.

Coffee Shop/Diner with a burger menu. Good stuff. Park out front - it's all the way at the end of the airport. Nice staff - busy place at lunch. The locals are there too! Nice for a short day trip.

I've always enjoyed the food! But the service is consistantly slow, be sure you are not in a rush. Lots of people thinks it's walking distance from the fuel pump and it's not! Taxi down and park in front. I recommend the BBQ beef sandwich, Yummy!

The restaurant is located on the northwest corner of the airfield. There's a small (old) observation tower just outside the back door. There is a large parking area with tie downs next to the restaurant.

The restaurant itself is quite large for an airport restaurant and is decorated roughly half airplanes & half NASCAR. The airplane decor is mostly Harmon Rocket related and included designer John sitting at one of the tables near mine. The restaurant is now a year old & looks like it's doing well - especially for an airport restaurant.

Me & a friend had breakfast and both our entrees were very good. Portion sizes were larger than almost any person needs to eat. Of course, I cleaned my plate. Their omelettes were well worth getting. They have a design-your-own ("experimental") omelette that lets you spec out your breakfast chosen from any part in the place.

This restaurant is definitely better than most. I'll be back to try out their lunch menu!

OK.. this is a new "diner" style restaurant, opened by Michael, son of John Harmon who designed the Harmon Rocket. This is a great breakfast/lunch stop owned by an aviation family!!!

Great food! Awesome atmosphere. Breakfast was great and serving size was huge. Dinner menu looked inviting. This will become a regular stop...

Located beside the owners hangar, John Harmon (Harmon Rocket), on the north west corner of the airport, this restaurant has plenty of aircraft parking, good food and a view of air traffic while you eat. The red painted lines on the apron in front of the restaurant signify a “no running prop” area so you won’t blast the place with prop wash. John wants you to park your aircraft on the restaurant side of the red lines, just don’t taxi in or out. Helicopter parking is marked with a typical “H”. I look forward to our next visit and wish John good luck with his new venture.
